We are committed to achieving equal access for all in Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park.

The Park and staff are on a journey to make Lullymore accessible for everyone and we are improving facilities and access every year. Please see the information below and whether it’s pre-visit, during your visit or post visit, please let us know if you need further information and how we can improve on this journey.

Our main trails throughout the 60 acres of the Park including the Peatland Biodiversity boardwalk and the road train are wheelchair accessible and buggy friendly for parents with young children. There’s also plenty of areas to stop and sit around the park for those with mobility limitations. There are areas of the mini golf and indoor play which are currently not fully wheelchair accessible.

Our Social Story is designed to help those with sensory needs or anxiety to prepare for visits. We limit noise levels in the Purple Heather Cafe & indoor play centre. If the Cafe is busy, there is a large sheltered outdoor picnic area adjacent to Cafe building which tends to be much quieter. It is relatively easy to find quieter places as the Park is set on 60 acres and is immersed in nature.

We have disabled toilets in the Cafe and access to the Purple Heather Café is wheelchair accessible. There is marked disabled carparking close to Cafe.

Audio Guides are available upon request at the admissions kiosk in 6 languages: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian and Polish.

There are also audio crank up signs in the Park which play pieces of audio after cranking using kinetic energy – please keep cranking until you hear the audio!

To help with planning your visit, please see Map of the Park here.

Our allergen book is available to view in the Purple Heather Cafe. Vegan & Gluten Free options are marked with “V” and “GF” on the menu board in the Cafe.

If you wish to enquire further about specific needs including dietary, visual, audio, mobility, sensory please enquire directly by email to lullymorebookings@gmail.com or by phone 00353 (0)45 870238.

Lullymore Heritage & Discovery Park is also committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adhere to parts of the available standards and guidelines.

The following are some of the things that we have implemented to support accessibility:

  • Fully responsive website
  • Content is accessed through a keyboard in an accessible way
  • Naming of images
  • Heading styles are used correctly to organise the structure of the content
  • Implemented a content management system that supports accessibility
  • Using colour with care
  • Forms designed for accessibility.

The following are some shortfalls we will work on to improve.

  • Not all images have alt attributes
  • The website is not fully conformant to WCAG 2.1

If you have any queries about accessibility please contact us at lullymorebookings@gmail.com
